Tarot refers to a deck of playing cards typically consisting of 78 cards. These cards are divided into two main categories: the Major Arcana, which consists of 22 cards with significant symbolic meanings, and the Minor Arcana, which includes 56 cards divided into four suits (similar to regular playing cards) - usually Swords, Cups, Wands, and Pentacles (or Coins).
Tarot cards have a long history and were initially used for playing card games in Europe during the 15th century. However, over time, they have also been used for divination and fortune-telling purposes. The practice of using Tarot cards for divination is known as Tarot reading.
